The Effect of Pituitrin on Fluid Distribution in Bufo Regularis Reuss
1 Department of Zoology, University of Natal
A new response to injection of posterior pituitary extract in Bufo regularis Reuss is described. If the animals are kept out of water after injection there is a significant increase in the fluid held in the lymph spaces, and fluid is resorbed from the bladder.
The accumulation of lymph is not accompanied by any sipficant decrease in the water content of the tissues.
The possible biological simcance of the response is indicated.
