Files in this Data Supplement:
Movies 1 and 2. Gravity-dependent bioconvective pattern formation of Tetrahymena pyriformis. Bioconvective pattern appears with increasing gravity (Movie 1, corresponding to Fig. 1B) and disappears with decreasing gravity (Movie 2, corresponding to Fig. 1C). Profiles of gravity change (1.01–2.06 g on a linear scale) are shown at the top of each movie. Frame intervals and a scale bar are 1.4 s and 10 mm, respectively.
Movies 3 - 5. Decrease in the pattern spacing with stepwise increase in gravity. Steady state patterns under altered gravity observed in T. pyriformis (Movie 3, corresponding to Figs 3A, 4A), T. thermophila (Movie 4, corresponding to Figs 3B, 4B) and TNR (Movie 5, corresponding to Figs 3C, 4C). Profiles of stepwise changes in gravity (about 0.2 g for each step) are shown at the top of each movie. Frame intervals and a scale bar are 7.4 s and 10 mm, respectively.
