The medusa is seen in the lower right corner constantly swimming into one of the obstacles. This shows that they fail to avoid obstacles that are not visible under the water.
Movie. 2. Obstacle avoidance: Red obstacles. The movie shows Chiropsella bronzie in the flow chamber with red obstacles. The medusa stays clear of the visible obstacles and in the end of the movie a typical avoidance response is seen: the medusa turns approximately 180° in front of the obstacle without touching it.
